The 86 bus loop is a popular bus route that goes through West End and South Brisbane. The 86 bus gets people to work, gets kids to school, and helps people reach much-loved destinations in the neighbourhood. Even with the huge success of the free 86 Kurilpa bus loop trial, the LNP Brisbane City Council is ending this service on Monday 27 January 2025.
Last year I delivered a petition to Council with 1179 signatures calling for the 86 to be retained. This is a huge number of signatures and among the largest petitions that ever get submitted to Council. I have also been applying pressure through Council Chambers and direct meetings with Council's transport planners. Despite there being a clear need for this service, the LNP Council has chosen to ignore residents and move forward with their planned cancellation. I need your help to amp up the pressure with a week of action. Can you help us save the 86 bus loop?
