What does the Olympic stadium review mean for Woolloongabba, Kangaroo Point, and East Brisbane?

The review into Olympic venues has finally been released and we finally have some idea what is in store for our community. Come along to this town hall meeting to get all the latest information and ask any questions you may have.

Our community has fought long and hard to make sure the Olympics leaves a positive impact for our community. We stood together to save East Brisbane SS and Raymond Park even when everything was stacked against us.

The Gabba Stadium is apparently reaching the end of its life - with a suggestion to demolish it after the games to deliver “urban renewal”. There’s discussion of building a privately funded 16-18,000 capacity live entertainment venue called the "Gabba Arena" on the Cross River Rail site.

What does all of this mean for these surrounding local communities? Will the commitment to 50% open space on the CRR site be respected? Does the government plan to sell off public land for their urban renewal project? Will the government deliver social and affordable housing, or more expensive developments?

At this town hall I will be sharing all the information we currently have available. There will be an opportunity for you to ask me questions and let me know what you think of the proposals and hopes of the future.
